The Writers

Here are the people who currently write for Thinking Through Christianity (in alphabetical order):

Dr. Mark Boone is a college professor with degrees in philosophy and Biblical studies.  He has been published for his work on Plato and has made presentations at conferences about ancient and modern philosophers.

Aaron Closson holds a Master's degree in Humanities, the History of Ideas, from the University of Texas at Dallas. His interests lie in nineteenth- and twentieth-century continental philosophy, especially Friedrich Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger and Soren Kierkegaard.

Dr. Brian Franklin is the Associate Director of the Center for Presidential History at Southern Methodist University.  He holds a Ph.D. in American History from Texas A&M University, and has a special interest in the intersection between religion, politics, and society in 18th- and 19th-century America.

Dr. Christine Hand holds a PhD. in the humanities from UTD, as well as a undergraduate degree in music business and a master's degree in literature. She is also a Dallas area singer/songwriter; her music  can be downloaded for free at ChristineHand.com

 





Renea McKenzie earned a Masters' degree for her studies in literature and is currently doing graduate research in African American Literature and American Women Writers of the 20th Century. Prior to starting her current work, Renea spent a year studying at the famous L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland.









Bethany Sundstrom-Smith holds a Master's Degree in Theology (Th.M) with a focus in Media Arts.  She has a background in journalism, marketing, and making lattes. She lives in Portland and currently focuses her research in  technology, sustainability, and the theology of singleness.

Adam Jones (editor) is a licensed minister who also has an M.A. in medieval Studies from Southern Methodist University. His academic work has been focused on church history, monastic approaches, and pop-culture.
